When and where is RBC HubHacks 2026?
It's a five-day hybrid hackathon from Thursday, November 5 to Monday, November 9, 2026. Kickoff on November 5 is in person at Volta, 1800 Argyle St, Unit 801, Halifax, NS B3J 3N8 (map).
When can we register?
Student registration opens on Friday, October 2 and closes on Friday, October 16, 2026. See how to register.
What does "hybrid" mean?
Kickoff on November 5 is in person. EDIT: Explain how the remaining days work (online, in person, or either).
Who can apply?
Recent graduates and students who are near graduation. You can't apply if you took part in RBC HubHacks last year.
What happens at kickoff?
Our two community partners present their problem statements and onboard teams on what to expect and how to approach their problems. Teams also meet their RBC mentors.
Will we have a mentor?
Yes. Every team is matched with a mentor from RBC who supports you while you work on your solution.
Can we work on both problem statements?
No. Each team chooses one of the two problem statements and tells us which one on the submission form.
When is the submission deadline?
11:59 PM Atlantic Time on Sunday, November 8, 2026. Late submissions are not accepted.
What do we need to submit?
A proof-of-concept PowerPoint presentation (the most important part) and a link to your code on GitHub. See the submission page for the full list of form questions.
Do we need a working demo?
It's optional. The proof-of-concept presentation matters most. If you'd like to show a demo, you can launch it from GitHub so we can see it running.
Is it free to take part?
